Starter takes a second to engage-new issue

So when I turn the ignition key, it takes about a half a second to a second for the starter to engage and start the car. In the past, when the key was turned, it was an immediate response from the starter motor. Any ideas on what this could be?

    Thanks

    Cool

Clean battery terminals, clean chassis grounds, and engine grounds and see if thats it.

Thanks all...did the terminal and ground check, and it turned out to be a bad battery. Luckily Bosch has a 3 year replacement, so we have a new battery and all is well!
