I was surprised by that sale, the Bavaria, (and the dark green merc). Woah way lower than I expected. Is everyone skiing or something? Didn't a 2002 incomplete chasis sell for $10k a few weeks ago?

Nice car! But auction results on that site are so unpredictable. A few days ago a nice e30 325IX sold for around 4K. You just never know.
Be the one that gets the car sneaking under the radar,,lol

I agree with your assessment. My e21 has been cut up and has a lot of work going on with it also. Still too lazy to do a build thread but I am considering. This car would have gone though that same work. Honestly I think it would be better off restored or used in for parts for a restoration. I wonder how bad he rust is though. I can't imagine how hard it is to find parts for the 2800.
First BMW I ever rode in was a 2800. It was an automatic though. My boss owned it, I was about 18. Really liked it, it rode real nice, maybe it had real leather, I liked the way the doors opened and closed very light, not heavy like a big American Buick like my mom had. I got to drive it too, it had no power steering. Liked the way it handled over very bumpy roads, very stable. heavy steering but i liked that too. The 2800 is the same as the Bavaria, I suppose, with maybe minor differences, ie the 2800 became the Bavaria.
At $2650 the seller is not asking too much, but if the floor is rusted out, and the rockers, and the windshield and rear window rusted badly, then it's essentially worthless, but still should be saved and restored. It would be a money losing project, but still should be done.
