BaT influences resale prices for cars in illogical ways. It isn't a market setter, its an oddity same way EAG is.

BAT has fallen astray from it's roots so far it's really not of interest to me any longer, for the most part. Where are people getting this money? This will be the first bubble to pop if we ever hit a recession

I'm definitely not a potential buyer for budget reasons, but I still love the site. Lots of cars there that I've never heard of before, lots of interesting info in the comments section (I totally ignore the useless complaints from morons and nitpickers). Love the random stuff like tank engines. And yes there's still a fair number of projects, glad to see them because it means they have a good shot at getting rebuilt instead of parted out.

Another site I really enjoy is FerrariChat - even though I'll probably never own one myself. I love reading how people deal with restoring vehicles for which parts are mostly not available, not to mention the really idiosyncratic methods people come up with for fixing stuff when even new parts don't always fit very well!

South Florida Craigslist is such an interesting place.

    1998 M3 Sedan, $4000.

    https://miami.craigslist.org/pbc/cto...852132500.html

Lets get to the title now.

So, this car was bought brand new in Los Angeles, California at Crevier BMW and lived there up until 2001. Around 2000 this car was involved in a high speed chase with LAPD going into San Diego where it was eventually pit maneuvered on the right rear side near the trunk. The family that got the car from the police had made a claim for the damage sending it into a CA Salvage which was a rebuildable title. The guy who bought it from them in 2002 had fixed all the damage and put 95% of the miles on the car as a daily driver.

This car drives straight as an arrow and id trust it to make it all the way back to California.

It has me thinking to try fitting the BBS front bumper I have instead of the air dam. Not sure I'd ever get the BBS trunk spoiler and leave it black on a white car though, too much contrast I think

I think it's pretty amazing that those MSW wheels still present as they do 30+ years since they were likely purchased. What was it, Euro-Tire, that used to sell those? I think that was the place. They were a good bit cheaper than the BBS 15", and both were very rare to see back in the day.

This car presents pretty well imo for a cared for vehicle that is 37 years old. Many of us would have kept the engine compartment in much better shape, etc, but finding an E21 that isn't ratty and crazy rusted isn't all that easy in 2019. I sold my E21 30 years ago this month ('77), and it already had numerous rust issues that I couldn't keep in front of without major work, POR 15 be damned. Fun car though...had a Korman Stage 2+ engine with 45DCOEs, Schrick cam, headers, etc, so it was a major sleeper in the mid-80s similar to my Bavaria.

The comments in the thread got to me a bit. I like BAT a lot but some of the stuff people say is so far off the mark.

65k is low miles but that certainly won't mean it's mint. That being said low miles will attract a market and if you can get it a bit more tight in the engine bay and with maintenance it will be a solid 10/10.

Plus it being a 2 person car has to count for something.

Someone else mentioned that but is that a roll back?

The car doesn't look far off from what mine was when I first got to it.

Some of the numbers do match up too. Could be a cracked gear and it only partially turns.

$8750...not bad for a non-A/C car showing rust bubbling missing the original S-package air dam and wheels. Speaking of the wheels, it's interesting they even swapped out the spare for a non-S wheel.

Interesting that it was picked up by the dealer who sold it. He must mean a car like it...
