For the past week or so, I can't unlock or lock the driver door either with the center console knob or the remote function of the key.
I can unlock or lock it manually, inserting the key and turning left or right.
By doing so, ALL the other doors either locks or unlocks.
I looked into the shop manual for this and they mention a driver door module that control this function.
First question : Where is this module located ??
Second question : Is the module is within the door mecanism, If so, I can pinpoint the wiring and find out If the signals are getting to the locking/unlocking motors.
PS: thanks for the reply
On your X5, the "door modules" are essentially enormous window switch units. As I recall, you can gently pry up the entire unit without removing the inner door panel, to access and test.
Here are the wiring diagrams and service manuals for your vehicle:

My money is on the door actuator.
That's a high probability indeed, my friend. That said, I have a big warning bell for X5 door locking, having prescribed an actuator/latch one time, without testing for output from the door module. I KNOW, it's ALWAYS the actuator....except with X5's.
I'd test for power on the black , and also the white wire, when triggering the lock/unlock....and then, as a double check, I'd deliver power from the car's B+ terminal to one of these wires, and see if it locks / unlocks. Check fuse 20 too.
(I looked up an '02, because no date was given.) The screenshot will only be good for 14 days.

Hi guys and thanks for the info.
I checked the fuse NO. 20 and it's in good shape, it is short on both terminals ( joke )
I will run the ''feed test from the previous post and keep you posted as for the results.
Thanks a million.
PS, it's an X5 2005 (E53) with 3.0L.
