    What are E34 going for?

My friend has a 1995 E34 525i that he wants to sell. Hes asking $4k for it with 183k miles on it. I been looking around and it seems to be a decent price from what i have seen. could anyone give me a idea what they are going for exactly?

183k miles means nothing if we don’t know the condition. Sure the drivetrain is probably pristine but body work, maintenance records, suspension work needed all come in to play. $4k does seem a little high for a 525i but what would I know, I bought my 535i for $800.

It's possible to be 4k depending on many variables. Here across all of west coast they command at least 4k to be 6-8/10 in ALL regards, most under 4k tend to be poor in one regard or multiple unless you luck out a bit

Use this link to help you out. They've been climbing but very slowly. It appears my e23 supposed worth has shot up a few grand over the past few years too.

I purchased my 1995 530i in February with 60,000 miles for 3900, but the dealer had also been sitting on the car for three years and had initially listed it for 10,000 lol

    This.

Clean body, clean interior, no expensive problems, front suspension (at least) has been rebuilt? 4k is a steal. Rust, body damage, trashed interior, needs $1k worth of suspension parts (never mind labor)? 4000 is a typo, one zero too many.

My 1990 was totaled by an Acura driver about a month ago. I got another 1990 525i with 54000 miles for $6200.

even though hundreds of thousands of E34's have been produced, think about it, you barely see them on the road... maybe what? like once a 1 week? once every 2 weeks? they are getting rare, there is only a handful on ebay.

They're rarer down here. I've only ever seen 6 or 7 in the last 3 years and I've met some of the owners since I saw the same ones a few times. There's less than 40 for sale in the entire country right now and the prices vary wildly from a mere $1500 to an incredible $22,000. Most are in good condition though, I don't see many rusty clearcoat-less older BMWs getting around (except E36s, those seem to have suffered here).

^It's pretty crazy that it's happening with how many were produced barely see any nowadays.

Searching for any pre 1995 BMW overall has dwindled significantly in numbers over the past few years.

I wouldn't pay more than $2k for it. If it has rust or needs work then maybe $800.

    It's all about condition.

Maintenance costs can add up quickly. Rust beyond a minor level means it's a parts car. I paid $5000 11 years ago for my 70,000 mile rust free 535. It's not worth much more than that now here despite being a well maintained 9/10 condition. And that's pretty well top dollar for a run of the mill E34 in my view.

M5, M540, 540i6, Hartge, Dinan, B10 etc all command a premium. Regular E34s are not particularly sought after like E30s
