2 or 3 Way Component Set

I’m currently wanting to upgrade my front speakers in my 94 325i Sedan. I really don’t want to spend an arm and a leg on a component set with a tweeter, mid and a sub (kick panel). So I was thinking about just going with a component set with a tweeter and a kick panel replacement. I was wondering what other have done in this case and how does it sound.

    Thanks?

It isn't worth installing 3 way if it has anything less that 6.5" midbass driver.
