One year ago, i bought mine 1997 735i with 235000km. From the first day I have two issues. The first one is when engine is cold (mostly on the cold days), in "D" there is slight shaking when I move foot from the brake pedal. As the engine reach working temperature, this issue mostly goes away. I have checked the engine mounts, viscous fan, serpetine belt... new spark plugs, intake and valve covers seals, o2s, ignition coils, alternator... The second issue is a slight vibration around 1200-1400 rpm. Also, it gets better as the engine reach working temperature. I guess that shaking could be the problem with the transmission but I have no idea what causing the engine vibration.
Misfiring when cold is nearly always vacuum leaks, and most likely the inlet manifold gaskets - repair and info here:

I have already done intake seals. Maybe it's the time to use starter spray to find the leaks.
Squirting stuff at manifolds is so 20th century - try a modern method:

I wish I have INPA. Squirting didn't help me, so it's the time for INPA.
