265/6 5 speed. I also grabbed the slave cylinder, flywheel and clutch( both looked new). I got the pedals and master cylinder but they look like they won't work so I am taking them back.

What car is it from? If e23, grab the driveshaft and cross member.

I wish. It was a "85 535i euro. I did get the cross member, it looks like the online pictures of the e23 one, are they that different? I know it is going to be a long search for all the parts I need. I need some pedals, a driveshaft, and the correct master cylinder to start with.

I do have a e23 shift plate and linkage rod headed to the house.

I had a couple of spare driveshafts that I have since sold over the years. I think i still have s shifter plate or two. Not sure about the crossmember, but one could be fabbed easily enough if necessary.

Does anyone know the distance from the transmission mount hole to the outer hole?

When I swapped mine to a g265, the dealer was able to get the cross member for me. New from Germany was around $50 IIRC. Check realoem for part numbers.

A 3-speed auto driveshaft will fit. Some say it’s not long enough, but I’ve been running mine for 6+ years without an issue.

I found a 3 speed automatic driveshaft. I am going to order the crossmember if it's still available.

I got the crossmember in today. The holes for the rubber mounts were closer together than the E28 ones, which had me worried. I measured the transmission and it looks like it's not an issue.
