my shop couldn’t replace my rear brake hoses because the rubber hose that connects to the short metal section on top of rear control arm has fused together over the years. The suggestion is to get a longer hose that would connect caliper to body and bypass the metal pipe. Has anyone faced this or have an advice on which part I could use?

Try a damn blowtorch and hammer lol. Keep heating that metal up to burn the rust and then spray it with pb blaster and tap a hammer and screw driver on it to chisel it off. I had to do the same thing to remove my emergency brake cable after it fused to the control arm. Took about 2 hours and a 6 pack of beer
If its the flare nut that's stuck, still use a blowtorch just be careful tapping the flare wrench with a hammer. Light taps and make sure to get it pretty hot and then spray it

Go to a better garage. Making up the short S shaped brake pipe is a 5 minute task. Any garage that can't or doesn't have the tools probably would not last 5 minutes over here.
The pipe, ends and tools are cheap enough and it takes half an hours to learn once in your life and a skill you have forever

Been there too, oxy-acetylene torch and a small vise grips got it loose. Lots of small turns back and forth to work the penetrating oil in. Just make sure justthe flare fitting is turning, don't want to twist the end of the tubing off.

If it was the front to rear lines maybe, but otherwise why waste the time on such a disposable pipe
