hello,
So I replaced my power steering belt and went to go drive and immediately got a grinding noise from the power steering. I loosed and tightened the belt but still the same noise. There are several air bubbles in the liquid bottle and sprays everywhere with the cap on. Any help?

with no belt on, does it also make noise?

I had an 86 325es that was doing the same thing. Ended up being loose bolts (one missing completely) holding the p/s pump case halves together. It wasn’t leaking fluid so I’m assuming it was sucking air through that joint and where the bolt was missing. You might look for that and then I would check fluid level of course, while it’s running, and when turned off. Also check the power steering hose for leaks, the hose clamps underneath the reservoir could be loose, or the reservoir could be cracked/split as well.
