Hi All! I am hoping you can help identify where a part is located on my X5. I purchased Part # 65756923209 (Inclination Sensor/Tilt Sensor) and need to know a general idea of where it is located on the 2006 X5 4.4i. I've been having some major issues with my silent alarm flashers going off and the dealer has completely drained my wallet. First, they told me it was the interior motion sensor which they disconnected for me, next they said it was a bad battery so I paid a ridiculous amount for them to replace it, and now they're saying it's the tilt sensor and that needs to be replaced. I am taking it to another shop as I no longer have any faith in the dealer to repair my vehicle, but I am curious as to where it is located. I'm seeing that some sites say it's located in the interior motion sensor compartment on the ceiling, others under the rear seat... can you help? Thanks so much!
The TIS indicates that the tilt sensor for an 06 LHD is located in the glovebox footwell (passenger side)... see B28 in illustration from TIS below. If you click the link...you'll see that the RHD & LHD have different locations...so make sure you click the correct link to take you to what you have:
Below is another diagram that shows the module locations for a LHD (left hand drive) e53 X5:

What's the point of that sensor anyway?
Did you fix your problem?
