Hi all,
I've owned my E21 323i for 8 years, and while I love the car dearly, thanks to life happening I'm just not driving it very much anymore. It makes me sad to see it sit unused in the garage, so I'm considering parting with it. You can see photos of it here (they're from when I bought it, but not much has changed: http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum...&postcount=635)
From what I can tell, the car has most of what would have been a dealer-installed Alpina C1 upgrade kit (as seen at http://www.bmwe21.net/?page_id=301) including refinished Alpina turbine wheels, vaned diff cover, Bilstein shocks, original Aplina recaro seats, Alpina dash, wooden Alpina shifter knob, etc. It's been repainted in its original Ascotgrau but definitely is not a show car and definitely not an original Alpina (has a BMW VIN and the placard is clearly a junkyard recovery). It has a chip from the previous owner on the leading edge of the hood, the interior shows its age and the WUR is a little wonky. I've taken careful care of it while I've had it - regular oil changes, valve adjustments, new brakes, new guibo, etc. and it spins like a top. I also have a bunch of extra parts, including another WUR.
Anyone have any price data on cars like mine? I've found some examples of fully restored original Alpina C1's and some examples of plain 323is, but having a hard time figuring out what my car would be worth since it's neither of those things. What do you think?
Thanks in advance!

Very nice 323i! And having the Alpina add-ons are a big plus.
Price is going to be dependent on the amount of rust/corrosion lurking- since most all of these German grey market e21s spent time on winter roads in Europe, rust is inevitable.
Verifying the engine block serial number would confirm whether it is truly a Buchloe prepared C1, although it seems that you have your doubts.
Assuming it is NOT a legitimate C1 2.3, and that any rust on the chassis is minimal and 'repairable', I say you have a solid $10K e21. Great color and all those Alpina goodies. Short of the real deal Alpina cars, it doesn't get any better than this!

I sold my authentic C1 about 3 years ago, it went for $28k to a friend of mine. He recently sold it for about $32k. I partially restored this car, and it was really nice and solid to start with, still had to fix some minimal rust in the sunroof drain into a rocker.
Nice 323i's sell for between $8 and $15k, more in Europe, where they have a huge following. So with all the C1 goodies, you should be in the upper range of a 323i I think. Not in the market right now, but I would consider low to mid teens for this one.
That's a gorgeous car! Thanks for writing that up. I sold mine today - it was a bittersweet moment...

Bittersweet for sure.
Would you share the sale price with the Legion?
