I’ve got a 2006 330Xi, 181k miles. Car is in great shape and has never been molested by lowering or any other type of modification.
It has two types of noises in the front end. As far as I can tell they’re on the drivers side. I’ve got a near constant creaking noise when going over any road imperfection as well as the occasional clunk as well. I’d like to fix these noises as it’s highly annoying in an otherwise very nice car. But I don’t want to go in blindly and start replacing things that don’t need replacing.
I’ve tried searching the forum for the topic, but I’m not turning up anything E90 specific. If this has already been well documented (as I suspect), please forgive me starting a new thread and kindly point me to older threads.
If you have any thoughts (especially if you’ve personally dealt with this) I’d appreciate being steered in the right direction. Thank you for any help you can provide!
Bump... anyone have any thoughts on this for me? TYIA
Does it sound like metal on metal? How many miles are on the suspension?

It doesn’t sound like metal on metal necessarily. It squeaks over any road imperfection at any speed and clunks a bit with bigger bumps.
I don’t know how many miles are on the suspension. I haven’t owned it that long. But the car has 181k miles on it. Could it just be worn out and need new shocks?
