Hi guys,
Got a 98 M3 with a full auto top and I've tried resyncing the top motors but I get the same result every time. My top lowers completely fine but when I raise it, it'll go through the process smoothly, the top will come up, the rear of the top will lift but then it stops there with the tonneau cover open.
The cover opens and closes fine when putting the top down but it seems like a sensor is not letting the boot lid drop. Because of that the back of the top is stuck up as well. The resync process will get stuck there every time and putting any sort of manual pressure on the top to possibly help it move doesn't work trigger the lid to close. Anyone have any leads on it? I also found old threads about sensors but all of their pictures or diagrams are broken links so that didnt help
Reach back and manually pull the third bow forward. Hopefully that is all that is needed and the sequence will continue.

This car is AWESOME !!!
Yeah I've tried physically manipulating the top in all different angles in hopes that it would trigger the sensor to work but it didn't change anything. I'll try to look into the sensors again, everything I've looked up didn't show where the sensors were
