My 2008 BMW X3 will not start but when you turn the key everything lights up. I called road side assist and they could not jump it. They said the battery was draining their jump box they were using. I have no clue what to try next. I really can't afford to get towed. Any suggestions of things I could try at home. When you turn the key there is no clicking sound or noise. Everything just lights up. The battery is brand new. Was just put it in it a month ago. Any help would be appreciated.
Start by getting the new battery checked as it should have full warranty. If a battery is going to fail prematurely, often it will happen shortly after being put into service.
If that is ok, then try jumping power directly to starter Terminal 50 which bypasses everything. If the starter doesn’t turn, you need a starter.

Check the ground cable under the car. I had this same thing happen to me. All my lights and electronics worked, I just couldn't start the car. I checked the ground and it was barley together.
This is a shot in the dark but check your ground straps / cables. They can cause strange problems on almost everything on your vehicle. Good Luck
