95 328 with LSD driveshafts (halfshafts) - Rubber boot needs changing

How hard is it to slide the splined CV joint shafts out of the drive shafts?

I have some good 325 driveshafts and the wheel bearings and drive shaft flanges and diff mounting flange dimensions are the same according to Real OEM

Pondering whether to throw a shaft in and be lazy.

The splines are the same dimensions. It's the physical driveshaft that is different. 325 driveshaft are thinner, hallow, and have a intentional stress piont in the middle. 328 axles are thicker and solid i beleive. 325 driveshaft are still rated for more than enough than a stock e36 will put out.

Main point was the "how hard to remove the outer CV" As that is what dictates if I am lazy or not

Do you mean getting the axle out of the hub? I've only done one rear bearing and I used my air chisel with a flat punch and it took little to no effort at all. I may have pushed it out by hand.

No the outer CV joint is on a splined shaft that slides into the halfshaft.

I guess no-one replaces rubber boots on shafts anymore
