Looks like a vacuum line off of your secondary air pump.

More than likely the secondary air pump valve which allows air to flow from the secondary pump to your catalytic converters however blocks air flow from returning in the opposite direction.

So the line looks to be a vacuum line for that purpose.

I will go look at my zhp to see where it exactly connects.

My 2004 has a different setup. I will go check the Bentley manual for you.

That hose goes to a check valve which goes to the solenoid for the secondary air valve. The vacuum supply is tapped off of the intake manifold runner.

So I pulled the intake manifold to do some looking
Seems like someone previously removed the I take manifold to replace the starter

Sadly they lost most of the bolts, misrouted wires, pinched and broke vacuum lines

So I'll be putting it back together for now

I've ordered new CCV hoses and oil seperator

I'm glad I pulled the manifold to locate the solenoid for the secondary air pump, because I would have never known about the nonsense the last guy left behind

Any diagrams showing correct routing of wiring and hoses????

Since you pulled the intake manifold I would highly recommend replacing all of the vacuum lines in the areas you cannot reach when it is attached.

I plan on it,the main reason I pulled it was to access the vacuum lines

Bmw really didn't leave much room lol

No they didn't! There are orange gaskets on the intake manifold. Replace those as well.

Part number 7 connects to part number 3 (the photo you circled). It’s part of th ccv system. I recommend replacing they are made of plastic.

If it was me I would also replace the CCV system since you are there already.

You can buy a ccv kit from ecstuning fcpeuro etc.
