A lot of you may recognize this car. The short version of the story, It was a Titan silver that was painted in NYC about 4 years or so. It was then owned by Brandon and then moved to Charleston. It was then bought by a guy in California, since it has 166,000 on the guides the new owner Alex wanted it S62 swapped before it's move to Cali. That was just over a year ago. He wanted a supercharger installed also so we were waiting for a low mileage to come available. About 2 days before the engine lead came in back in Feburary, Alex was involved in a serious car accident. He was messed up pretty bad. He has head trauma and has had multiply surgeries. His wife says he would be happy with just getting back to work, so this project had to go.
Tyler(sold his car on BaT) offered to put the cost of the car up to help Alex out and keep this build going.
So, here we are today, it's finally moving forward.

Last Thursday The M5 Reaper (Adam) offered me a 117,000 mile engine. So I jumped in the parts hauler and headed to Maryland.

Awesome! Lol love the shot in front of the tesla charging stations. Nothing beats german POWER!!
So jealous. I’ve lusted after this car for awhile and now it’s getting swapped!
So glad this is finally happening. It's what this car always needed!
May I ask... I know you rebuild the engines when you receive them. What exactly does that involve? What are you replacing?

Takes me more time to change oil than Trevor putting in a new engine!
Wow, I remember this one. What a shame what happened to Alex It's such a lovely thing to see these folk come together to keep the passion for this motor vehicle alive and kicking. Amazing work guys!!

Very impressive. I have so much respect for you guys who can jerk these engines and associated parts in and out these cars like this. It just goes to show how much these E38 are appreciated by those in the know. I am proud to count myself among the owners of this wonderful machine. Good luck to Alex. Godspeed on his recovery.

Nothing much on the visual side today, auto shifter out manual stick in. M5 cluster in. most of the wiring is done, just the fuel pump module, servotronic and DMTL pump to wire.
And No, the wiring doesn't get easier. My brain still gives up after awhile.

The fuel pump and the booster vacuum hose came today, so just about ready to start it.
Rear end is almost done. The axles splines are stuck in the hubs on this car too. I got one out and I broke the cheap 3 jaw puller on the other.
The M5 diff is fitted and the UUC sway bar brackets are welded on.
