Hello guys,
I have never written anything before here, only read and researched and collected info and you have no idea how helpful you were. So first of all a big thanks to all of you that unknowingly helped me with the restoration of my project.
So here is a thank you pic:
IMG_20180627_112951_006.jpg
The car: e30 1990 316i 2 door.
The engine: 1990 m50b25 NV out of an e34 with around 70 000 km on the clock.
The transmission: 5 speed manual ZF.
The Diff: 3.25 LSD 25%
Suspension: Bilstein lowered 10 mm front and back (no coilovers since no track days, only weekend car). New thicker sway bar, new poly bushings, front and rear strut bars.
Steering: e46 330i purple tag steering rack with power steering, e46 inner and e36 outer tie rods, 3 turns lock to lock.
Brakes: 290 mm front discs, 4 piston calipers from Wilwood (not sure if you can call it a BBK :P). Stock 250 mm rear brake discs (converted from rear drums and was quite a pain to be honest). Changed all brake lines and complete rear trailing arms and bushings. Brake cylinder from an e32.
Exhaust: Schmiedmann exhaust headers/manifold. Custom made straight piped 3'', cat delete (I know I was going to FI it later so I made a 3'' exhaust from the start).
Intake: Stock m50 manifold, stock throttle body, K&N air filter kit, new 3'' MAF (although I keep having some minor idling problems :/).
Cooling: New stock radiator, new water pump, new thermostat, new cooling hoses. Stock clutch fan, never had overheating issues after the changes.
A/C Delete.
NEW PAINT, NEW INTERIOR.
Here are some more pics of the car.

After the paint:
Next steps:
1) New "classic" steering wheel.
2) Supercharge the engine.
The reason I think supercharging is in my case a better option than turbocharging is because the car is driven on the street only, during weekends. It spins the wheels sometimes when I am shifting into 3rd with 100 km/h. I do not want that turbo kick when I am on the highway and downshift, I would rather have the linear power of a supercharger.
My goal is to get around 400 bhp mark. Will that be doable with:
1) New camshafts.
2) Rotrex C38 / 81 (with intercooler and oil cooler).
3) Thicker head gasket to lower compression to around 9.xx:1. (I would really love some suggestions here).
4) Bigger (500 cc) injectors, new fuel pump (255 l/hr), new tune for 100 Octane fuel.
5) Subframe reinforcements for the added torque (from Garagistic. They really have some nice stuff).
6) Stock m50 manifold and throttle body.
I would love to hear some suggestions from everyone who has had experience with that. I would love to make that process as pain free as possible. :P
More pics following soon.
