Help with removing idrive controller on LCI 650i

Hello. I have an issue with a 2010 650i with CIC idrive that I have traced down to the controller. Everything works when using voice controls but the controller in the center console is unresponsive. The vehicle was barely driven for nearly a year and did not have any issues prior to being parked. The battery was also recently replaced if that has any bearing on the issue. Does anyone have any input on how to remove the controller from the center console. I have tried prying upwards with a trim tool, but it feels like it may be screwed in to the center console.

Just thought I would follow up for anyone who needs it in the future, I figured it out. I'm going off of memory, but in a nutshell, the job goes Remove trim around Vents>Remove Radio Surround trim and unplug connectors>Remove Trim below Radio>Remove Shifter (pull strait up)>Remove Trim around shifter, and unplug harness(s)>Remove L and R screws on the forward portion of the side of center console>Remove the rear armrest and unplug all connectors going to front section (If applicable)>Remove carpeted trim on center console (Slide forward and out)>At this point center console should be loose>Remove Center console in one piece, while taking care to unplug any connectors that were missed> Flip over center console, and use a few thin flat-head screwdrivers to release the tabs on idrive controller (there may be 4 torx screws that need to be unscrewed as well)> Remove and replace controller>Installation is the reverse of removal.

Not too bad of a job overall. It took me about 2hrs start to finish to replace, but as they say YMMV.
