A couple months ago I had an oil leak I didn't know about. I drove the from home to school which is about 2 miles but a 25 minute drive and then back at the end of the day when i got back home i noticed the leak and checked and I was fully out of oil, nothing on the dip stick. I put more oil in then tried and find the leak, started the car and the engine seized, I have been too busy to fix anything until now and I put a concoction of half mystery oil and half transmission oil down the spark plug holes directly into the cylinders, will try and crank tomorrow does anyone know if my engine is still salvageable, if so any tips to get it running again, I am not very that mechanically inclined and have only done basic maintenance on the car
Thanks, Aeden -1997 bmw 328i convertable

Shogun tricks and tips for the E32 series are HERE!
Maybe you have a hole in the oil pan. Earlier e36's had an issue with the oil filter housing, there are oil ports in the back of it that can leak very fast, but yours shouldn't be an issue. How many quarts of oil did the engine take?

If the oil warning light works and did not come on it should not be seized due to lack of oil, end of
No warranty of any kind implied or given and no liability for any loss, damage or injury, no matter how incurred accepted.
If the oil light works, came on and you drove it no further than the side of the road you are probably ok.
If the oil light works, came on and you continued to drive it, you're probably looking at an engine.
If the oil light doesn't work, you might get lucky, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Let us know what you find out...good luck.
I'd make sure that your engine is/isn't seized and it's not a some other issue... based on your knowledge (nothing personal here).
