When the outside temperature exceeds 90 degrees, my 2001 Z-3 (3.0) loses power. It still runs smoothly, but its loss of power feels like retarded spark. Any idea what might be causing this?

Any codes/ check engine light?
Any modifications done to the engine?
High air intake temperatures will cause some power loss due to air density changes, but not severe.

No engine modifications and no engine warning lights on, but the power loss is significant.
My experience with a sudden dramatic loss of power with no codes was a clogged catalytic converter. Sometimes everything was fine and sometimes it was clogged due to a broken piece of ceramic. It finally set a code for a downstream O2 sensor.
It could also be a bad DISA valve or a bad VANOS or bad VANOS seals. Those rarely set codes either, yet have a noticeable impact on power.
