I am tired of listening to the tea kettle whistle coming from the back of my 325i. It has always been somewhat irritating but it is even worse now that I have installed an M52TUB28. Above about 5600 RPM the whistle steps up to a higher pitch which is even more irritating.
I do know the catalytic converters are the same as those used on the 330i so I should have no issues there. What I want to know is if the rest of the system from a 330i sedan will bolt in to the existing mounting points. I think it will but I wanted to see if anyone has done this before I buy parts.
From what I have found the 325i and 330i share the same center muffler however the rear muffler is different. Now if it were an xi like mine then the exhaust is exactly the same.
PS. For parts interchangeability questions realOEM.com is your friend.

Good info. I'm a long time realoem patron. Been on there for years. Sometimes it is inconclusive, sometimes it is misleading, but it's usually good.
I use realOEM a ton for my E32 manual swap that im doing currently. Only piece that I found wrong was the pedal bolt lol.

Hello sirs.
Probably a stupid question and I'm perhaps abit slow.
But would an exhaust from a 330xi fit my 325i?
Am hopefully going to collect one Thursday, but would really be gutted if it was a waste of time and money.
Thank you in advance 🙏
Xi and non-xi have different exhaust routing because of the transfer case. It is just exhaust pipe, so in a pinch a muffler shop could modify it, but now you know.
325, 330 and ZHP have different exhausts, but they are interchangeable. ZHP is better
