Easiest (and probably cheapest) solution is to get a radio from one of the later E46(2003+) and buy the factory Aux connection cable. It will be a plug and play job.
USB is not possible with factory head units. Youd have to go aftermarket for that.

There are numerous solutions. All use the CD changer cables in the trunk. GROM makes bt solutions.
