    Rear interior lights stays on

Hi folks. Bought a 99 323i E46 from someone who was basically wanting to throw it out. He said it had been sitting a while and couldn't move it. Engine started fine but he said it wouldn't move in D or R. I had a suspicion it was low on tranny fluid so with that I bought it for $500.
Got it home and it took almost 3 quarts before I was able to move it. Drove it around and let it sit another several weeks before I could work on it again. Still could not move it again. Suspect it was still low where all the fluid did not go to all the places it was supposed to. Added several quarts until it could take no more. Now it drives fine.
Any way, just sorting out other issues. I pushed the light switch in the overhead and the rear passenger interior lights turned on but could not turn them with the same switch off no matter how times I tried working the switch. Seems the relay or what ever is stuck in ON position.. Unplugged the light bulbs from them so it wouldn't run down the battery.
So the question is, does anybody know where those lights relay is? I would really like a wiring diagram if someone could point me in that direction. I also own a 92 325 Conv, and a 88 635.
    Thanks

So after doing a bit more checking, it appears that my driver's door open/close switch isn't working. Meaning, however the door system senses the door being closed or open isn't working on the driver's door only. I say this because I noticed that when I activate the interior light switch it does turn on the lights only. Cannot select them off by the same switch. However, when I open and shut any of the other doors, passenger front and both rears, the lights do turn off after a delay. The only door that doesn't turn the lights off is the driver's. I do not see a mechanical switch in the door jamb of any door. Where is door switch. Is it a hidden prox switch or is it part of the door latching mechanism?

The switch is in the door’s latch assembly.
