I have a 2008 e61 535xi, its in immaculate condition ...
im trying to sell it for $12,000 CAD
I have been getting a lot of interests but many are asking about the water pump, turbos etc....
Its been to the mechanic and they said only rear brakes, under cover and potential water pump replacement are needed. (I'm not even sure if the water pump has been replaced by previous owners but there are no signs of water pump wear)
The man who took it to the mechanic is low balling me to $7000 because of the work needed for the car.
Im not sure whats fair.... is my price too high? what is a fair price for my car? should I just keep it and fix it up myself ?

Does he know it's a unicorn? That should be worth something if it's in the condition you say. You can tell if you have the original water pump if the aluminum bolts securing it are blue. At least it's that way with the American cars. I just had my water pump replaced last week.
Does Auto Trader circulate up there? That's where I found mine. GLWS

A 2010 m sport manual e61 recently went for $28,000 on bring a trailer. It had upgraded turbo, injectors and hpfp and 130,000 miles. There are we're 3 big factors in that price, imo. First, the service history and second, the fact that it's the last of the manual 5 wagons and finally the m package. As a person who shopped for a long time for a manual m sport wagon and settled on a 2010 m sport auto, I will say there's value in the stick, but the 08 loses value because of the CCC idrive and some other stuff.
For a lot of people, original injectors, hpfp and turbos are a ticking time bomb. Mine have been fine. I couldn't even find a way of justifying a way to get it done under warranty. I've surprised most techs telling them my car still has those original parts.
Also, not sure how you can say that the electric water pump shows no wear. It's electric and it's in the most inaccessible spot. They work until they don't. Mine failed at 98k, a week after I bought the car. Replacement parts were $750 and it took me 6+ hours to do myself. A shop would charge $1500 minimum.
Perhaps if you had that work done and then list it on bring a trailer you can get closer to what it should go for. Just be careful because the readers there rip apart every detail.

I tried to PM you and post on your other thread. Not sure it’s working, but hopefully one of these messages reaches you! I never thought you’d decide to sell

I tried to send you a PM through the Tapatalk app, not sure if it went through. Hopefully I can reach you one way or the other... can't believe you're selling this!
Thanks for the comments and advice
Thanks! I have a buyer from these forums... I’m more than happy to sell the car to him at a lower price because I know he will appreciate it!
Awesome! I shared it with someone here in the US, but they were antsy about that process of buying from CA.
