    Question [PICTURE] PS Question.

I have a 1997 BMW 328i and I am doing a lot of maintenance right now. Anyways I wanted to replace my power steering reservoir and the two lines that ran off of it as they are seeping full of it. Could anyone please help me find the correct lines to order. I seemed to only find one of them online and do not want to order the wrong one. Please help a fellow enthusiast and I provided two pictures for reference of the lines. Thank you all!

    use the realoem drawings https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=32_0727
there are only 2 hoses which connect to the power steering reservoir
    1 Intake manifold 1 09/1995 32411093460
    07 Return pipe with cooling coil 1 09/1995 32411141714

both are low pressure hoses, I replaced the hose # 07 by removing the crimp and replace it with a normal hose for fuel/diesel/oil fluids and hose clamps, some pics here http://e32b12.blogspot.com/search/label/M3

The hi pressure lines require special crimps, some people have done it themselves, buying special hydraulic line and the fittings and crimp tool. But as you can see the realoem.com diagram that line is a part of the power steering cooler section.

I am very confused because https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=32_0727 and https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...50#32111131345 are two different diagrams, yet the same car. Someone please help so I do not order the wrong lines.. 1997 BMW 328i.

    your first link is correct
01 Intake manifold from reservoir to pump from 09/1995 32411093460
07 Return pipe with cooling coil from 09/1995 3241114171

your second link shows a diagrams up to 09/1995

For a 1997 use the one from 09/1995
always use your VIN when you search in https://www.realoem.com/bmw/select.do

I took both hoses off (with the trombone) and took them to a local hydraulic shop. It was way cheaper and they replaced them with normal lines you can buy at the local parts store should they have any problems in the future. They need to do a little work on the fittings (brazing on the right fittings) but it is quality and doesn't leak anymore (and you can take care of it yourself in the future for just a couple bucks).

Unless this is some sub 100k-mile collector car that needs to stay original, I'd go that route. Cheaper and better.

-Josh: 1998 S54 E36 M3/4/6 with most of the easy stuff and most of the hard stuff. At least twice. 271k miles. 1994 E32 740il with nothing but some MPars. 93k miles.

I got the high pressure line for the S52 from fcpeuro for $45. Rein brand with lifetime warranty. They should have the other lines you need as well
