    Brake light switch wire

Hello I am new to the forum & really need help.

I have my brake lights not working. So that being said I went to check my brake light switch & I came to find that the actual wire that connects to the switch was completely cut. Although my biggest issue after that was I could not find the wires that it was cut from so is there anyway someone can explain to me where I should be reconnecting it to.

    Thanks in advancE

the one at the pedal? there is no same colored wire hanging around near it, or tucked up behind the carpet or something?
