Hey Fellas,
So,
I have searched but I figured I would ask this here as well because as time goes on more experiences are had.
The clutch is undoubtedly shot in my 540 , and most likely the DM flywheel (170k miles)
I am planning on replacing the flywheel with a TTV single mass flywheel for two reasons: #1 No more dual mass to wear out #2 It's cheaper. (Thoughts?)
I have learned that the stock pressure plates are self adjusting however I would like to switch to a non self adjusting if the price is fair.
What would you guys recommend?
What pressure plate do I buy that's non self adjusting and will fit our cars?
Also, what clutch do you recommend?
Stock, M5, Exedy, Another type?
Leaning toward the m5 clutch atm.
I am open to all answers. Thank you! Looking forward to hearing current opinions.

AFAIK, the M5 clutch is self-adjusting, and employs a DM flywheel.
Single-mass is okay, but some say gear rattle is annoying. In any event, MUCH has been posted on this subject. Google Search is your friend.
Are you planning to keep the car beyond 340K?

I have the TTV flywheel it's great!, I had the m5 clutch with it, gear rattle was horrible! got rid of it after 1000 miles
I now have the Spec stage 2+ sprung hub, massive improvement, minor gear rattle
E85 fueled, Eaton m112 supercharged 4.5L M62TU, TTV racing flywheel, Spec stage 2+ clutch, 88c thermostat, eibach sway bars, wavetrac 3.15 lsd, m5 steering box, Quantum 340lph fuel pump, Dinan camber plates, some powerflex bushings, Supersprint headers, M5 cats, 2001 gas pedal upgrade and many other things done. all diy by me
40k? hmmmmm, probably not but who knows! Will probably have a 2jz in it by that time If its still around.
I am not however into whole heavy dual mass flywheel idea as I believe it downgrades the overall shifting experience. Plus its less expensive shipped from TTV for $345 even. Can't beat that!

Thank you for sharing your set up! I am used to drift cars so gear rattle is nothing new to me. I am going the ttv/m5 clutch route for the time being! Anything is better then the worn out stock set up It currently has!
