I think we are a long way away from crappy ones increasing in value. Low mile original and full restorations will command highest dollars until the tide lifts all boats

I just purchased a 97 Dakar coupe, black interior with 110k on the clock. The car was in CA...2 owner car with a clean history and all stock. I purchased it for $9500 and then had it shipped cross country to NY. It appears to be in decent shape overall, absolutely zero rust.

LOL We all want to buy them completely stock... but we don't want to drive them that way. I bought mine bone stock and have poured easily twice the purchase price into upgrades and mods... pretty much cutting her resale value in half unless I went to the trouble of reversing them all.

Just picked up this modified car for track days, $11k

1997 BMW M3 “slicktop” built for Track Days, Autocross

    Miles: 165,800
    Title: Salvage
    Location: MD

The car was a Bay-Area CA car until I moved it to MD in 2017. It's never seen salt or snow. I have all records for the car back to the original owner. They are scanned in and available upon request. The car was built by the previous owner’s shop in Vallejo CA as a streetable track car. He added some nice interior extras – suede accents throughout the car as shown in the pictures. I had a Pre-Purchase Inspection (PPI) performed on the car by RRT in Sterling, VA

The car is tastefully modified for track days with Recaro race seats, 6-point harnesses, a VERY beefy roll bar, and numerous suspension and engine modifications as detailed below. The car is still driven regularly on the street, has working A/C, and made several 700+ mile round trips to Virginia International Raceway without a hiccup. The car is a fairly unusual “slicktop”/no-sunroof car.

The car does have a salvage title, but has not been wrecked to my knowledge. All body panels on the car are original with the exception of the front fascia. The previous owner had the car repainted after driving through a construction zone with a lot of loose gravel that damaged the paint on lower half of the car. He had a high-quality repaint by a local shop, submitted the claim to his insurance, and they totaled the car. I have documentation of this in the records of the car.

Details on the car modifications and maintenance are as follows:

165k AND salvaged, I would say prices have gone up.

I purchased my 99 M for 13.5k with 63k in 2009 and it was mint. It also came with OE cf trim (LTW Trim)
