    Stock S52 Turbo

I am looking to turbo my s52 with (142k miles) on a 5k budget. HP goal right now would be 350-400 or whatever the stock head gasket can take (was reading 8psi). Down the road once i save a few i would like to upgrade the gasket and go with ARP studs.

I've been eyeing the CX racing kit to start for now and upgrade later one, from what I've read about it its highly advisable to upgrade the feed lines and bolts on it.

Also i would go with RK tune for the tune with a M50 manifold

Would you guys think this is a good call? or should i buy a used kit from a member? or should i just save and do the head gasket and studs and then go turbo?

I’ve read folks use stock gasket. Are you going to run E85? I’m using a cutring gasket and arps with stock compression. Right now it’s on WG spring but once I break my clutch in, I’ll turn it up.

probably just run it on 91 or 93, i am in the military so i dont want to mess around with E85 since not a lot of places have it (small towns) usually that's where most of the bases are at.

I think 8psi on stock head gasket is good. I think $5k might be overkill since you're going with CX racing stuff, I just added up my build and I thought I was around $3k but actually was a bit over $5k I didn't realize I would be here but oh well, at least this was a fun project!

stay away from the CX kit. Get a used quality kit from here or even look on facebook. Spa manifolds can be had on ebay for $250-$350. I've also heard good things about the RSI manifold.

the RSI manifold creates a lot of tight space, I would go bottom mount if I had a choice to do it again, but I wanted to be cool and have a top mount haha

check the LA craiglists, I think I saw this and it was $2100, not a full kit but mostly full.
