The 5hp24 requires regular ATF1, not LV.

LV (low viscosity) could definitely make a difference. It's all about pressures and clutch friction in autos.
BTW, the refill procedure is not supposed to be done hot. It needs to be between 30-50*C before the fluid expands too much. Fill until it dribbles out. If it's done hot, the level will be too low.
