First off hello everyone my 1st time posting on the forum, long time lurker. Now onto the fun stuff!
Last friday i took my bmw to a mechanic sells me on the 14 years of exp... i tell him i have a smoke problem (i know who doesn't) tells me 100% it is the belly pan gasket even after telling him i have zero oil consumption, So he leaves my hood open on a lift all weekend and the struts tire and the hood shuts on the motor mount holding it up, leaving me with a pimple in the middle of the hood. THEN backing out of his bay backs into another person wrinkling my bumper. After all said and done i get to pay him 1200$, to come home to this.

mods. <DCI, 5"fmic, kittyless. stock tune. brand new index 12s coded. new rb pcv, vanoes> only does this smoke clouds after warmed sitting and drove slow then clears out after reaching normal driving, buddy said smelled like gas. Also tech said the turbo's show no oil leaks from the outside, but at this point who knows what the inside shows.
Well he is going to have to repair the body work that's for sure
He did $10K of body damage, and you paid him?
Are you gonna eat that?
it's was just a rear bumper and my hood haha, and his insurance covered it. it was just the point he told me 100% the issue was my pan gasket leakin on the DPs. annoys the hell outta me, now im broke again and my car still smokes.
The logic to that diagnosis makes no sense. Its smoking out the tail pipe, so an external oil seal must be failing??
I get that sometimes its hard to pinpoint one problem when there are several things going on.. but these 2 arent even close to related.
Id recommend finding a new mechanic.
