2004 325 Coupe Auto Trans Issues

While driving on the interstate a few days ago the transmission stopped working with no warning at all in my 2004 325Ci. The car is now at home there are no mil lights on but if i shift the trans into manual mode the gear icon turns on. The engine runs normally but the trans will not engage any gear.

I am hoping the community has heard of this or can send me in the correct direction to troubleshoot, the nearest dealer is a few hundred dollars worth of a tow away and we have no one local who understands these" German cars" lol

There ought to be a boobie light on. Have you jacked it up for a visual? I recommend getting a laptop, cable, and software (like INPPA) so you can get a diagnosis yourself. Not that expensive, especially in light of your situation. Try googling for "50skid transmission". This guy is insane. He fully rebuilt his own transmission. Good stuff.

I have seen several of his videos, he has a lot more time on his hands than I do. but he seems to have it figured out that is for sure. I also agree with you that considering the symptoms I should have a light of some sort on the dash lit up but i do not
