Hi Guys
Been a few months of life drama and the cars have been getting neglected but its now spring and I am feeling more chipper about them
The old girl (1996 750il) has been running as sweet as nut after the MAF sensor replacement and now back to the original sound system after the AVIN debacle. The car has S-EDC and I recently did sway bar links and bushes plus the previous owner had spent some coin on the suspension (castor bushes/arms) but there seems to be this rattle or knock when on corrugations and poor roads which is noticeable at low speeds and it seems to come from front and or rear. The S-EDC is working as I can definitely notice the difference. Any ideas where I should start looking and at the moment would only have jack and stands to get under it or would I be better off up on a hoist at the shop?

You've mentioned sway bar end links -- did you replace both, front and rear? They tend to make knock sounds at low speed.
I've also seen people report center drag link ball joint knocking -- was it replaced at some point? If not, it could be a culprit.

Yes both front and rear sway bar links and bushes done. I am not sure if previous owner did drag link but pretty sure he did the "traction struts" as the parts diagram calls it and I dont have any shimmy or knock under braking.
Any chance of this sort of noise being caused by wear in the front strut and rear shock mounts? I do have this fantasy that I will rebuild the entire suspension at some point as I have absolutely no reason to sell such a sublime driving machine with only 159k km on the clock but until that point I like to stay on top of rattles and knocks. As its a low speed knock perhaps I should just drive fast:-)

Edc struts / shocks are expensive - Nagangast in Poland rebuilds them. They have a pretty good reputation - I’ve not used them, but i will have to at some point.
