HELP!! My drivers window broke, had it replaced at the window shop. Got in my car to leave and it wouldn’t turn. My electricical stuff works (windows, locks, radio...). But I can’t open my trunk. The car WON’T start. What’s the problem????? I need help for real, this is my everyday drive. The mechanic reset things and he said that wasn’t it. Please say it’s sonething easy 😢😢
Use the emergency procedure to open the trunk if required:

Check that the instrument cluster shows that the gearbox is in Park 'P' - try starting in Neutral if you can't select Park.
I'm sure the mechanic would have measured the battery voltage as that would be the most obvious reason for not cranking. But, if the engine turns over but doesn't start there are numerous possibilities - and the mechanic should check for a spark to start with.

Make sure that batteries aren't run down. My 850, if allowed to sit too long, will not start, but the radio plays, the windows work, etc. Jump start, and all is well. These cars are very susceptible to issues as the result of low (as opposed to no) voltage conditions. Just one more idea.

I’m going to tell my guy to try that on Monday. First we have to get into the trunk (can’t open it now)
Thank you

Suggest you try Timm's emergency boot opening procedure that he sent you earlier in the string above.
SteveCT, for sure will use his procedure to get into the trunk first. Must do that in order to jump it.

Actually, you should jump the car from the front. Look by the passenger shock tower for a cover with a + on it. That's your positive connection. Also try arming and disarming your alarm.

Okay, I saw that under the hood. My car is still with the mechanic. I will contact him in the morning and relay this information to him.
Thank you-
