Window issues

I have and 01 330ci. On the way to work yesterday my passenger window started giving me problems. I heard a bit of a grinding noice while lowering the window. When I tried to put it back up it stopped about 6" short. It would go down but wouldn't go back up past that initial stopping point. Any input is appreciated. Does it sound like the regulator? I've taken the door panel off and dont see anything obviously broken.

So I removed and installed a new window regulator in my passenger door. Everything has gone pretty smoothly, but I do have a question about installing the glass. The new regulator has a zip tie thru the rear clip that holds the window. Does it need to be removed? Every write up and YouTube video has been pretty vague about how to go about installing the glass. When I took the glass out the clip came apart in several pieces and fell down inside the door, so I'm not really sure how it should look. Any help?
