My car won't stay on after cranking. It will start run, very rough, then immediately shut down. I can't even move it because if i press the gas pedal it will stop, but as I said it won't stay running anyway. i hooked up my laptop and ran INPA and got several errors. i haven't cleared any because i need to find out how serious they are and fix what the problem is.
So fam, I need help deciphering these. I copied screen shots of those errors in the attached file. What really concerns me is the status DME internal error. I've done nothing to my DME, at least not directly that I'm aware of. What is that about?
Any suggestions on causes & solutions?

Thanks for any help.

Maybe I will beat Timm to this: check your DME plug for coolant. Could be that DME is kicking the bucket. We recently had a member that had issues and it ended up being a bad DME.

Try disconnecting the maf plug and see if it runs first...

That does sound like a real DME problem - especially as you have a Watchdog error code - a Watchdog fault means that the processor has stalled, and it shouldn't have done that! Possibly there's dampness in there - time to hook it out.....

Checked the dme for corrosion and signs of coolant debris? It was clean.
Can someone please tell me how getting coolant in there is possible? I’ve seen reference to that in other posts.
Anyway I also cleaned my MAF sensor, but in the process of looking over the car again this is what I noticed and I’m sure that it’s the culprit...

What did you notice is the culprit?

Notice the air gap between my intake hose and TB! I’m 99% certain this is the culprit! Arrrgh! I should have known and suspected this. it’s happened before, but it’s been maybe 2 years since it occurred. Smh

I’m going to button everything up. Reconnect that air intake and my instrument cluster. I forgot I had removed that bc got one from an x5 that In going to replace it with and didn’t reconnect the original. That might be the cause of the watchdog error. ..??

Yep! So a while back I replaced the supplied tubing (rubber hoses) and clamps with better aftermarket parts and the issue subsided. However I should clean the hoses periodically because of the oil that forms inside and eventually seeps through which makes it slip out in some spots. The connection at the TB has always been a weak link in my setup.

Fortunately, after looking at the error pdf again I notice that the watchdog error is not for the main DME but for the steering angle sensor!

Replacement would be the way to go - and be happy it wasn't the DME!

True, very happy. But would be very surprised if it was corroded. But what would cause that?
Good news is problem solved. It was the coupler and air intake hosing. I disassembled everything, cleaned up the oily and debris as well as my MAF sensor and she fired right up.
Now I have the brake, ABS & reaction lights on
But thanks all for replying with ideas & things to check into. I’ll do some searching and figure out what’s wrong there.
