Been working with my son on restoring to original a 2002 M3, 6sp. We are now looking at the Rear Trailing Arm Bushings for replacement (RTAB). Anyone have any suggestions to make the effort go well? We have the bushings in hand.....
Thanks
Works like a charm. You can find knock-offs and self made versions on eBay and other sites as well.
Yeah, I have that tool and it makes it super easy. The only moderately tricky part is during re-installation when you need to torque down the bolt through the RTAB such that the plate sits at an angle relative to the trailing arm more or less where it would sit when the car is on the ground and suspension loaded. This removes any preload from the rubber RTAB. I eyeballed mine with a long straight piece of metal from the plate to the wheel hub, and tried to get them both as close as I could.
