    Fault Codes help!

    HI all,
I have a 2007 328i e90 - the car decided to freak out on me, and I got the fault codes. When I started it, all of the warning lights cam eon, the ac stopped but showed it was running, the wipers came on at full blast and I could not operate any windows. the following is how it read:

    DTC 11
    I/M NO
    Fault 06
    Pend 05

    P1776
    P1777
    P1055
    P1774
    P1775 P
    P1776 P
    P1774 P
    P1055 P
    P1775 P

Im fearing the ECM is to blame, but respectfully ask if any of you can tell me what this means?
At least enough so that that when I take it to the shop, I won't get quoted for anything more than what is necessary.

    Thank you so much.

    Kris

For meaningful codes, you need a BMW-capable code reader. The cheapest and arguably best option is a $15 K+DCAN cable from eBay and a free ISTA download.

    HI,
So as it turns out, yes, the code reader used was junk, had the car towed to my local shop. My alternator was over charging, fried my fairly new battery but did no other damage to my electrical components. So, $700 later, new alternator, new battery, she's up and running again..

Hopefully they registered the new battery to the car. Is it possible the previous battery which was damaged hadn’t been registered to the car?

In my experience it is obvious if the battery isnt registered. The gauges and lights didnt work.
