Door handle very hard to open

I have a 2002 325ci. My door handles are very hard to open doors, especially the driver side. The handles get harder to open when it is very hot outside. I found this video on how to fix the problem, but I don't know what the guy is banging on. Can someone give me an idea so I can open my doors again?

Lube them

It is not the hinges that is the problem. The door handles are very hard to pull.
