Hey All,
Question for y’all that have a 430xi. I just purchased the 2019 430xi gran coupe. Is there any settings to have the mirrors fold in when locked? I looked it up and said to go into to vehicle settings, but that option isn’t available for me.
I have custom coded mine (F30/F31 chassis, same electronics as the 4-series) to fold if I hold the lock button about half a second, or if I hold the touch pad on the door handle.
I do not know if there was a setting inside the idrive for it.

There's no setting. You need to have that feature coded.

Is there a step by step to code this? Does the car need any specific options to be able to enable this? this would be for an F31

I think your Bimmer has to have Comfort Access. To code it with BimmerCode, it’s found in the Front Electronics Module section. It’s done by setting a single parameter to Active (second line in attached pic).

Thanks. Time to look into BimmerCode
Will that affect the warranty?

I used this to code mine in, quick and easy. Wont affect warranty.

Should not, generally speaking, but if anything is incorrectly set and you need to have defaults rewritten or something that'd be chargeable. However, Bimmercode does automatic backups of your settings when changing, so just keep track of what you intend to change (DOCUMENT IT), and you can revert if anything goes sideways.
I have just purchased a 320d sports saloon with mirrors that look as if they should fold, but there is no button in the cockpit to do it and a long press on the locking button does not do it.
On contacting BMW, they have advised that electrically folding mirrors are not fitted to the vehicle and that they need to be folded manually. They have offered to retro fit them for £300.
I find it extraordinary that this high spec vehicle does not have this feature, and find it difficult to believe that they would dismantle these mirrors an replace the with electrically folding ones.
Anyone have an opinion on this?
Thanks,
Peter
