    '00 750iL 5HP30 Shift Flare

Noticed the beginnings of a 1-2 flare/engagement (or could be 2-3 if its starting in 2, either way it's the first gear change when accelerating from a stop). History - Had delayed reverse and bang from P to D - Rebuilt the VB with the ZF kit this past spring, found and replaced a cracked housing around the pressure regulator. Put back together, cleared adaptions was fine.

I don't drive it a whole lot - but noticed this new behavior recently. Shift flare and increased slip times between upshift engagement. INPA shows no EGS errors, haven't seen Trans Fail Safe since I rebuilt the VB. Did I miss something, has a solenoid gone bad? 110k Thanks guys!

If you don't use the car much then it is possible that the battery (top battery if you have dual battery system) is failing - even with a good charge, a failing battery will cause slow solenoid response times. Replacing the battery is a pretty cheap option as well!

    Thanks Timm!

New dual batteries this year, and it's always on a tender when parked. I don't suspect voltage is the issue, alternator and batts check out. I'm leaning towards VB internals, solenoids, TCC.... No sign of bright metal in the pan, typical black clutch goop. Internals were immaculate. Pics from my kitchen table rebuild. Drove it to work this AM - didn't act up. So intermittent issue I guess. I wonder if a valve is sticking on a wear ridge inside a bore... :hmm:
