08 535 i with ipod 30 pin aux, will blue tooth plug and pair?

looked through forum and learned a lot but did not see this specific issue--sorry if it is there and thanks in advance for assistance.

hi. have 08 535i with ipod 30 pin aux in the glove box. is it a simple matter of getting a blue tooth adapter such as "coolstream" from amazon and pairing it? are there specific ones that work--do you have to see vw,audi,bmw compatable or some such, or is a blue tooth adapter a blue tooth adapter?

I tried a lighting 30 pin to 8 pin but that did not work--firmware issues?

center councel has spaces for usb/3.5 but wiring not yet done-- could do that too but would still need bt adapter if i did not want to plug phone in directly.

goal is to stream stuff.
