I did my new plugs today. BMW made it pretty easy. Under and hour while taking pictures of each step. I read the dealer gets over $300 for this job.
When removing my engine cover I noticed a loose rubber gasket that goes under the oil cap. I could not tell if it should be positioned on top of the engine cover and under the oil cap or under the engine cover as well.
Thanks in advance.
iirc......under oil cap...on top of engine cover
mine seems to have grown as well..lol
I think over time from the cap's pressure they flare out...mines way too big after 19 yrs
I bet my plugs have 140k on them...these cars are wonderful lil gems
If its the rubber gasket I'm thinking of, it sits under the beauty cover. It's designed to gasket the beauty cover against the oil filler neck, so if you spill oil on the neck when topping up the engine, it will flow over the beauty cover, not under it where it could reach the spark plugs or coils if applicable.
Ordered a new cap. $3.01 including shipping. I can live with that.
