Sorry, I know this has been covered a lot and I see plenty of options but here goes.
I got the 535i running good finally, this whole time one injector wasn't plugged in all the way doh. Now it leaves two stripes thru 3rd gear and can go around 160mph
Now the clutch is slipping under peak power.
I have a flywheel and stg 3 act clutch kit for a m10, as well as the gearbox 242 I believe. But I do not want to use the weaker gearbox and deal with drive lines crosmember shifter ect ect
I have not seen a clear answer yet as to weather I can use the m10 flywheel and clutch with the 260 trans, my guess is no. I see pleanty of the 240/242 boxes being bolted to the m30s but not just the clutch being used with the 260 trans.
So my other plan is to get a lightweight flywheel and a m5 hd clutch oem part # 21212226428
anyone have experience with this? its only 8.5lbs!
http://racehead.com.au/products-page/engine-components/bmw-lightweight-performance-flywheel-m30-heavy-duty/
Otherwise I would get a oem 533/m5 flywheel at 15lbs.
Anyone have one for sale?

I see you... Unfortunately the only thing I can add is what you said: Make sure whatever flywheel you get, you get matching flywheel bolts. Elsewise you will run into problems. And personally I think ~15lbs - 11lbs is a perfect weight, eventually you get to a point where the revs start to drop a little too quickly for my taste.
Little update, I contacted this seller on eBay concerning compatibility etc, so if they respond I’ll let you know. I’m not too well versed with flywheels, but I understand brands like JB racing flywheels are made to be the same depth as the stock dual mass flywheel, so you can retain the unsprung clutch. This might be a similar setup.

Okay, I got in touch with the guy, and he basically told me that
A. He is unsure of fitment with the stock dual mass flywheel clutch kit
B. He can guarantee fitment with the single mass flywheel clutch kits, 533i, m88, etc
You’ve talked a lot about m10s, different mm’s etc, but if you want to use the lightweight flywheel from rhd, I think the easiest would be to get an e28 535i clutch kit, and the corresponding flywheel bolts, and be done with it. I did some research into review and such of the company online, and while there wasn’t much, it seems like it’s a thing in the e30 community, and have only seen good reviews so far. They even make a LTW FW for the s14 it would seem, and those guys are all revving a lot higher than most old m30s. You make your own judgement call.
UPDATE: The corresponding flywheel bolts are any flex plate bolts from an auto trans equipped engine. This kit will not work with the dual mass flywheel clutch kit, it will overcompress. I have gone ahead and ordered this flywheel, and I’ll report back my experience. I think it might be a little lite, but what the heck.

Hey thanks for all the research and responses!
Did you order from RHD website directly? Post back with the quality!
I just bought $1000 in wheels and tires so clutch is gonna wait, it does fine as long as im not doing multiple burnouts and drags.
Oh and I was never wanting to use a DMF clutch setup
It lists the clutches that go with it on the website. I'd use a sachs m5 clutch. p/n 21212226428

I ordered the flywheel through ebay (just my prefered method of buying things). It was the first thing I ordered, expecting it to take the longest, and it was here within the week! Very pleased with customer service so far, and it looks great to boot. Can’t comment on how well it actually works, as I have yet to install it. Just recieved my sachs clutch kit (same m5 one you were considering), and now waiting on my order from pelican parts to arrive with all the new shift bushings. After that I’ll install and report.
I weighed the flywheel, and it was 8.5lbs on the dot, and I think with the beefy m5 clutch kit, that low weight probably won't be all that low, in a good way. Hoping the two combined reach a sweet medium of lightweight, and not wanting to kill myself on every takeoff. I’ll be reporting back soon, I hope!
Was it RHD on ebay?
Link to what you bought?
Thats great you received it quickly, I await your thoughts on it after install.
After a few hard launches today mine slips pretty bad and its sad I cant put the power it wants to down.

Whats the deal on your engine, anything special? Or just old clutch?
click on cars in my signature for builds
Just a 284 cam, race valve grind, arp studs, hd rockers and locks, free flow intake and 3" exhaust, 24lb injectors and a tuned chip.
Stock bottom end but new timing chain and guides, everything freshened up. Pulls hard.
Its gonna get a miller maf conv, 42lb injectors and about 12lbs of boost, in the future. Right now sorting tire and suspension issues out, then brakes, then clutch. THEN power. Oh somewhere in there I have new bumpers to paint and put on....
Thought clutch looked ok but guess not.
Hey it ends up being $25 cheaper on ebay and get the ebay bucks. It is from the same RHD Australia company. But it says its outsourced made in Taiwan ... I await your feed back, hope you get it put in soon as I will be needing this within months.

500 miles later, with my new clutch broken in, here is my long overdue, probably too late for you review. I’ll try and keep it simple.
RHD 8.5 lb flywheel
Pros:
Obviously it revs up faster, and of course it drops down faster. I will say, to me, it’s controllable, and I never felt like my shifting had to be harsh or too fast. Just smooth and precise.
I couldn’t tell you if the car is any quicker in the lower gears, but you can feel the difference first gear for sure. What I would imagine a shorter ratio diff might do, everything happens the same but quicker.
Shifting, especially downshifting, is much improved. The old dual mass flywheel made me have to hold down the accelerator in order to bring up the revs, now it’s a blip of the throttle to get up to speed, and thus makes shifting quicker and all that more enjoyable.
Overall, I would say the biggest pro about this flywheel is simply the feel it gives to the car, of precision and lightweight acceleration.
Cons:
It rattles at idle, they all do, I don’t mind it especially, but my car is no stranger to odd sounds. I don’t feel it noticeable outside the car, as in “WOW, this car sounds like it’s going to explode”, but inside I sometimes push the clutch in at idle just to make sure that it is indeed the flywheel, and not the engine.
Installation was easy and straightforward, but no one mentions that you need smaller pressure plate bolts to get the pressure plate and flywheel nice and tight. I used 13mm Allen head bolts in place of the stock 16mm, no problems so far.
There isn’t too big of a reputation for the brand, as far as I could find. Not that I was seeing any negative experiences, just that if you are wary of the materials and manufacturing process, perhaps spend more money on a more well know brand. Personally to my untrained eyes, the flywheel looked fantastic and I had no reservations putting it in the car, under my feet especially, and I never have a second thought about it. However I understand the concerns people might have with smaller manufacturers, so it goes as a con.
In summary, I highly recommend the flywheel. It made the car more responsive, fun to drive, and made this 3400lb sedan really feel light on its feet.

I <3 LWFW. Where was it made?
I don't understand or know why someone is not jumping on this great combo: OEM clutch(reliability) and JB Racing lightweight flywheel=a great combo. Don't pussy foot around and do it right (I know from experience).

Porsche 996 Turbo Evosport GT 700-[700hp]-my daily
I would have bought it, but when I needed the kit it also came with 5 speed transmission
I will say this, its a fair price for what you are selling. I spent $658 shipped to my door for my flywheel and clutch setup, and you are asking $650 for yours. However, I think this is another pro towards the flywheel again, a new JB racing flywheel with new oem clutch is <$1000. 11lbs vs 8.5lbs, and $350 saved with the RHD; and you get to use the beefier M5 clutch kit. Win win in my book.
Not to rag on your for sale or anything , just some comparison for posteritys sake.

I went with the m5 JB because it will be the last flywheel I need, as the disc is replaceable and they are a well known company. Also it came with the proper hardened bolts for the flywheel and came with nice Allen bolts for the pressure place.
From here $500
https://www.bimmerworld.com/JB-Racin...0-Engines.html
It is 8 lbs and I have no problem driving it, it rev matches so much faster, shifts better, all around better. I can't wait for WOT and REDLINE!
Then a m5 sachs clutch kit for $380
It drives amazing, although I have not gone over 4000 rpm or half throttle. Going to give it a 300-200 mile break in...
This thing is pretty.

i was looking at the chrome molly flywheel. i mean for the price and what you get you cant beat it. Jb is a big brand. more people to pay out. so you will see a price difference in the product. not to mention. any company that pays for any testing or approvals they recoupe the money in the product as well.
for what it is. its a flywheel. and i will be getting the Ausie one and sell my M5 in the future.
Hey I've got the rhd flywheel sitting here. Where about did you get the m5 clutch from as all the prices I can find are over 700nz then Shipping and 15% tax.
Also I didn't know about the pressure plate bolts being to long. Where did you get the 13mm bolts from? Cheers.
Ebay has good prices, this is where I got mine (no affiliation)
https://www.ebay.com/itm/272551693718
Dont know what shipping might look like.
My pressure plate bolts were a bit long, so I went to my local Home Depot and just found a set that had the same thread pitch but shorter length. If you have hardware stores in New Zealand that you like, I would try there. Or there are companies online that sell fasteners, like Fastenal.
Goodluck, a very worthwhile upgrade.
