I need some help with my build. I got a M50TU and I bought 133mm decompression rods without knowing that M50TU version have 140mm rods. 133mm rods I bought are for non vanos with 135mm to lower compression for turbo. Is it possible to use 133mm rods if I swap in M54B30 crank since that uses 135mm rods and get lower compression?
Yes that would work. It will change the dynamics of the engine beyond the compression ratio. It will raise your piston speed and reduce the time your piston is at the top of its travel. You shouldn't have and problem at the bottom of the stroke, there are some race cranks built with longer than s52 stroke so you won't be coming out of the bore but you may have a higher tendency for piston slap.
