I have a 2006 X5, during acceleration the car jerks badly. This only happens during acceleration during normal driving conditions you would never know there was an issue. Any thoughts?
the first thought that comes to mind (though just a guess here...) is spark plug wires ....
I have had this jerky acceleration issue with three (non-BMW) cars that I have had over the last 40 years and the remedy in each case was to replace the plug wire set ( and distributor cap)
...???
... forty-three years of driving before I get behind the wheel of a BMW .... and I am thinking, "why did it take me so long?"
... and then after another 4 years I can't believe that I have two of them !!
I chatted with a few people and they said the same thing. It got so bad that I towed it in. Unfortunately, my husband drives it and is not great about telling me when things start going wrong with his car. We will see once the mechanics get a hold of it on Monday.
How many miles on the car? It may need plugs too while they are replacing the coil leads, among other things.
Any codes present?
