Euro Bumper: Shipping from Abroad? Getting the right parts?

    Hi,

I have a 1989 325i convertible (still with the aluminum bumpers). I love the Euro bumpers, but they seem hard to find here in the US. I have a friend who lives in London. How hard would it be for him to find them there and then ship them to me? I don't mind waiting (I've had the car for 30 years, what's another couple of months).

Does anyone have a list of parts (or, even better, part numbers) that I'd need to do the conversion? Does anyone know a good source for parts in the UK (or is it just ebay)?

Assuming this is feasible, would it be easier to find 15" basket weaves there too?

I have a less good friend in Australia, would that be a significantly better place to source? If it matters, I'm on the west coast.

    Thanks!!

I did a broader internet search and found this (ECS euro conversion kit): https://www.ecstuning.com/b-assemble...SABEgLDaPD_BwE Is anyone familiar with this? Would it work on a convertible?

Have you thought about a later model E30 plastic bumper swap this works good with the convertible because the body panels are already set up for them and would be a less expensive option.

I have not thought about a plastic bumper swap. I may be in the minority, but I actually like the metal vs. plastic. I'd prefer, however, that the bumpers don't stick out so far from my car.

The rear isn't. Early verts have the late front/upper rear fender but the shallower early section behind the bumper so plastic bumpers need to be trimmed to fit.
