Coolant level low...after new level sensor!

I have a terrible issue that has me pulling my hair out! I have an '08 535i with 101,000 miles on it. I recently had the oil cooler hose replaced, due to a leak. I now have a "low coolant level" indicator coming on. I checked the coolant, and found it full. I took it to my indy mechanic to make sure there were no further leaks. After pressure testing, he found no leaks. So I figured it may just be a bad level sensor. Had it replaced on yesterday, and after driving about 2 miles, I ,again, got the "low coolant level" indicator. Took the car home, and parked it. Didn't check it again, due to the engine being hot. Came out this morning, checked the level, and found the level fine. Started the car (no indicator), took the little one to daycare, and started to work, and the "low coolant level" indicator came on again!! What else could be causing this problem? I did read somewhere that the sensor could have a bad connector wire, but how likely is that?

I had this issue a few years back on my 09 535 and it was the earth connection to the sensor.

It wasn't making a good connection and so the readings where way off once it heated up.

You can snip the wire and run a new cable direct to a clean earth point on the engine to test, if it doesn't help you can just patch the cable back.

Took ages to find the fault and I also replaced the sensor, cleaned out the system, but it all came down to the connectors earth pin.

    Hope that helps.

Thank you so much! I'll get with my mechanic and run this by him.
